No Artists Tolerates Reality

Artists are one of the greatest gifts mankind has received from itself. They are the only people who aren't bonded by the shackles of reality, of one life to be lived in a world full of verification. They choose to live in multiple lives in the same lifetime and introduce the rest of the population to all those realities in which they indulge. They add color to the black and white of human life.

Thus, when Nietzsche wrote, "No Artists Tolerate Reality," he was absolutely right. Many people on this earth exist, a few live, but an artist can bring life to figments of imagination.

An artist's mind is filled to the brim with too many worlds crafted by them to be able to comprehend the reality the world imposes on them. It doesn't make them wrong or right, only different.

It is up to each person who finds a creative force inside them to let it play out. To let it simmer at a slow heat. To not tolerate reality, but make your own reality in the best way possible.

In many heads there would be a question popping up. "But what happens when that reality hinders another?" That's when the line between a reality and a fantasy is drawn. Actions have repercussions when we live in a reality, and while many artists have blurred the line in the past, it is necessary to understand what happens when we cross the border.

A fantasy is something a person can make up for their own pleasure or satisfaction. For example, a fake scenario you create in your head about how you could tie your boss up in the basement to get out work,  or how you could slap the person in front of you when they are arguing in a non-sensible manner. However, it is obvious that these actions if committed in reality can harm the recipient, and incriminate you. During this time, you cannot excuse yourself by saying that this is how I want my reality to play out, as this is your fantasy. Your reality would be standing up to your boss, or shutting down your opponent by proving them wrong. This way, you may have to deal with consequences still, but they would not be half as dramatic as of your fantasy.

As an artist, your work influences many. Introducing your public to a world of fantasy is not wrong, but it should be made clear that the world has its own reality in its own right. Actions have consequences is a concept that each individual needs to understand to thrive in life.
